At ABN Group, we believe everyone deserves a place to belong. A home isn’t just a structure, it’s where you get to be exactly who you are.
To celebrate Pride this year, we collaborated with Australian artist Steph Hughes to bring a series of original window decals to life at Home Collective in Leederville and Bunbury, and the result is something we are incredibly proud of.
The Work
Steph’s concept was beautifully simple: a Pride party in full colour.
The installation begins at the doors, where a DJ and dancers set the scene, and from there music weaves through every window as rainbow thread and dancing figures carry the energy from panel to panel. It is joyful and alive and unmistakably WA.
Every detail has been considered with care. Steph has drawn a diverse cast of characters, representing a range of nationalities, gender identities and abilities. There are bikes and buses, walkers and swimmers, stick figures playing on hills, and community moments tucked into every corner. Perth’s skyline, its land and sea, and its unmistakable wildlife all make an appearance too, with Black Swans, Black Cockatoos, Painted Lady butterflies, and yes, both Dockers and Eagles represented.
In Steph's Own Words
“To me pride is joy, the ability to be exactly who you are, and the united power of community. In this mural I wanted to capture the energy of people celebrating together, music weaving through the scene like a shared heartbeat. I’ve drawn lots of my friends and community in here. WA’s unmistakably sunlit scene inspired the colour and energy. I’ve loved the opportunity to fill these windows with colour to celebrate Pride.”
About Steph Hughes
Steph Hughes is an artist and musician based in Naarm/Melbourne, where she lives with her partner and kids. She describes herself as a draw-er put on this planet to help others through the fabulous medium of doodling, which tells you everything you need to know about her.
Her work spans murals, books, editorial illustration, and community art projects with organisations including the Melbourne Museum, Oxfam, and the Guide Dogs Association. Known for hand-drawn, line-driven work that is simple on the surface and endlessly detailed up close, community and connection sit at the heart of everything she makes. This project is no exception.

Come and See It in Person
